National Kidney Foundation of Sri Lanka

The National Kidney Foundation of Sri Lanka was incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 2006 (Act No. 34 of 2006) as a Non- Profit Organization dedicated to assisting in the prevention and treatment of Kidney diseases in Sri Lanka. It was declared an Approved Charity by Gazette No.1554 of 13.06.2008.

Vision

To eliminate or at least minimize the incidences of Chronic Kidney Disease in Sri Lanka

Mission

To establish Renal Care & Research Centers throughout Sri Lanka, to provide Health Care to those who have been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease, to encourage research to diagnose the root causes and to educate the Public against exposure to the causes leading to Chronic Kidney Disease.

Objectives

• To assist in the prevention and management of kidney ailments in Sri Lanka
• To assist in the public awareness regarding the seriousness of kidney disease and to educate the public on the prevention and cure of kidney disease by way of seminars, workshops, discussions etc.
• To assist patients regarding the treatment for kidney ailments including dialysis and / or kidney transplant.
• To raise funds to support the above objectives and further develop facilities for patient care.
• To join or collaborate with any other association or institution in Sri Lanka or abroad having similar objectives to assist in the prevention and management of kidney disease
• To support research in relation to kidney disease.
